The Dedham
High School is a two story masonry structure constructed circa 1965. Renovations
were being completed in the wing directly below this roof level. The Existing
built-up roof system had reached the end of its usable life and was allowing
moisture infiltration into the structure. The Dedham Public Schools decided to
add the roof replacement to the renovations.
Peterson Associates
scope of services included a complete evaluation of the existing roof system, as
well as, plans and specifications, which addressed the roof deficiencies noted
in our evaluation. Full time construction monitoring was also included into the
scope. Repairs to the buildings included replacement of the existing roof, with
a cold applied built-up roof system, and wall panel system and associated
flashings. The schedule was very tight considering design was initiated in
mid-June and the roof needed to be replaced by the end of August. Construction
was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
